Qu¨¦bec Bursaries Granting Exemption from Differential Tuition Fees

According to the Memorandum of Understanding on Higher Education Cooperation between the Ministry of Education of P. R. China and Quebec Provincial Government of Canada, Quebec Provincial Government of Canada annually grants scholarships in which up to 125 Chinese students' high differential tuition fee can be exempted. According to this memorandum, China Scholarship Council (CSC) is responsible for selecting eligible students.

I. Brief Introduction to the Program

This program is committed to sponsoring Chinese students who are pursuing Degrees (including MBA) in French- or English-taught universities certified by the Ministry of Quebec Education Department. The number of students going to English-taught universities under this scholarship program should not exceed 20% of the program's total beneficiaries. Priority is given to those candidates pursuing Master' Degrees and Doctorate Degrees. Under this Program, the students can be exempted from the high differential tuition fee that international students have to pay, and pay a tuition fee that is the same as Quebec students (tuition fee information can be found from the relevant universities in Quebec). Those who have got scholarships from other Canadian or international organizations that have not reached agreements with Quebec Government are not eligible for this Program.

II. Eligibility

1) Being a citizen of P. R. China, with a valid passport of P. R. China, excluding those having double citizenships;
2) Admitted by a university in Quebec Province as a full time student;
3) Being fluent in French or English.

III. Time of application

CSC will accept the scholarship application of studying for the autumn semester (September) before May 31st and for the winter semester (Next January) before October 31st. Please inquire CSC for further information.
