Project Duration:
2002-2007, divided into two phases, 3 years for implementation and
2.5 years for replication.
Objective:
To contribute to the economic development of Chongqing Municipality
and more widely in China through vocational education and training
meeting industry's changing needs. The Project is designed to support
the P.R.C. in its efforts for the expansion and reform of VET (vocational
education and training) through the assistance provided to the Municipality
of Chongqing.
Chinese Agencies of the Project:
the Chinese Ministry of Education is the project executing agency
while the Chongqing Municipal Government implements the Project
on the Chinese side. The Chongqing Foreign Trade and Economy Commission
(CQFTEC) is the local coordinator. AusAid of the Australian Department
of Foreign Affairs and Trade appoints Hassall & Associates International
to execute the Project on the Australian side. The five pilot schools
are: Chongqing Vocational Institute of Technology (Automotive),
Longmenhao Senior Vocational School (E-Commerce), Jiangjin Industrial
and Commercial Senior Vocational School (Construction), Chongqing
Electronics Technical College (Electronics), Chongqing Tourism School
(Hospitality and Tourism).
Project Funding:
the Australian Government invests 19.42 million Australian Dollars
and the Chinese Government invests 5.3 million Australian Dollars.
